Clara is made from a pair of sweat pants I was given while I was living in a homeless shelter. My journey through homelessness and recovery from mental illness is part of the reason I have created this network. Clara is one of my first experiences with healing arts, and was created as part of my experience in cognitive therapies. She has become the voice of clarity that I so desperately needed to help me make sense of the chaos that was the hallmark of my life.

I have always been a crafty gal, and I actually grew up on a chicken farm... so, when I began to learn about cognition, Clara became the face of my new way of thinking and perceiving myself. She has helped me understand that God really, truly loves me just as I am. In fact, He DESIGNED me to be a great big chicken! The beauty is, that now I have learned to celebrate and have fun with that portion of my identity!

The creation of Clara and her peeps is founded in the same type of emotional pain that many people are experiencing today. Millions of people are suffering untold tragedies due to mental illness, domestic violence, extreme poverty and all types of addictions. The world is groaning, waiting for the church to manifest the glory of God in our midst. God has healed my once broken heart, and restored my once shattered mind. I know for a fact that His love is completely unconditional, and that He yearns to bring this same kind of healing to everyone who needs him.

The church is largely ill-equipped to handle these harsh life scenarios, but God has been developing an army of individuals who DO know how to help! If you have been invited to Kingdom 9-1-1, you are probably one of those individuals. God has good plans in mind for each of us, but He has GREAT plans in mind for ALL of us! Communication and integrated efforts are critical to the successful accomplishment of kingdom business. The world desperately needs us to get our heads together, and get our head together!

We can, we simply MUST do a better job of being the salt and light that Jesus intended for us to be. I'm destined to serve at the king's table, and if you are here, so are you. So, welcome... thank you for being here.
